The Ecofab gondola cover is our most common and economical solution for product containment in open top railcars. The cover allows for full access to the railcar's contents once removed and our simple yet reliable latch system can in most cases be applied without modification to the railcar.
The U.S. D.O.T. has determined that a railcar equipped with an Ecofab railcar cover meets the criteria for a closed transport vehicle for transportation of low-level radioactive waste, as specified in Title 49 CFR 173.403(c)
The Ecofab coil cover can be designed specifically to meet your needs for either transverse or standard format coil railcars. Covers can be supplied with insulation to help avoid condensation on steel coils. Covers are easily removed with a single point lift hook.
